School Keyworkers

The school employs a Keyworker to provide an independent, confidential service to support children/young people and their families.

The Keyworkers are experienced at working with families and young people.  They are friendly and easy to talk to, do not judge people or put people down for having problems and won’t tell you what to do, but will ask you what help you think you might need.  If they cannot advise you themselves, they will put you in touch with the right people.

Our Keyworker will:

  • Support a small number of children/young people and their families.
  • Assess need in consultation with the family using the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and support positive change.
  • Work with the family to co-ordinate additional services as required, both in and out of school/college.
  • Respect the decision of the family and work with them to improve
  • outcomes for all.
  • Provide support for children/young people by working in 1 to 1 sessions to help improve self-esteem, anger management and to provide a listening ear.
  • Encourage children and young people to adopt healthy lifestyles and to make good choices throughout the journey to adulthood.
  • Provide information and access to a range of other opportunities including clubs, sports etc.
  • Deliver group work as appropriate to address issues such as anger management, bereavement, social skills and life/family changes.

Please contact Mrs Jane Clement, our School Inclusion Leader, if you need further information about the Keyworker Team.
